Generous donations from GTZ and the German Embassy
For the urgently needed development of the woman and orphanage from KUFA in Kabul the German society for technical co-operation (GTZ) granted a subsidy of 32,500 euros. The German Embassy in Kabul helped with further 6,700 euros. The local director/conductor of the facility, Hannsgeorg Preuss, would like to finish the work on the most important building sites with the money now as fast as possibleThe news of the generous support led to big joy and gratitude with all partners in Hamburg and Kabul. Now, among others, the money is used to finish the construction of a well with a small water tower and 6000 litres water tank, to guarantee the supply with electricity, to repair damages to the building and to install a kitchen with stove and fat-separator.
To offer a professional perspective to the children growing up in the orphanage also in the long term, a workshop in which craft abilities are provided is established on the area. Moreover, computer courses and linguistic courses should prepare the children for the future. The adolescents possibilities are indicated to form her own life and to participate actively in the reconstruction of her country.
