About KUFA
The "Assistance Committe for Afghan Refugees and Reconstruction of the Country" (KUFA e.V.) was founded in 1979 by A. Rahman Nadjafi and the journalist Jürgen Bertram and is residing in Hamburg, Germany. The committee is a purely humanitarian oriented association and organizes nonpartisan assistance for the Afghan people. KUFA e.V. is an approved non-governmental organization.
Besides supplying needed materials like food, warm clothes or medical supplies, our goal is to contribute to the Afghan infrastructure in the long term by supporting schools and providing shelter and education. We are maintaining a women's house and orphanage in Kabul, where currently about 100 people live. Around the Peshawar-area in Pakistan we realised several social, educational and medical projects. We also brought several injured children for medical treatment to germany.
On initiative of Kufa-founder Rahman Nadjafi from 1980 to 1989 the "Afghanistan Blätter" were published, which reported about the ongoing situation in the country and critically reflected the events.
In Germany KUFA is officially regarded as a charitable organisation. We confirm that all incoming donations will be used solely for the purpose of our organization, that is supporting the people in Afghanistan and contributing to the reconstruction of the country.
